In addition to its mouthwatering flavors, this wrap offers a versatile canvas for culinary creativity. Whether you’re a fan of spicy heat, prefer a milder palate, or enjoy experimenting with different ingredient combinations, this recipe can be tailored to suit any preference.

Ingredients Needed for This Southwest Chicken Wrap

  • 1 lb (450g) of chicken breast – You can either grill or cook it in a pan. I like to season mine with a bit of salt, pepper, and chili powder for that extra flavor.
  • 1/2 cup of black beans – Make sure to rinse them if you’re using canned beans.
  • 1/2 cup of corn – I prefer using frozen corn that I’ve thawed, but canned corn works just as well.
  • 1 avocado, diced – This adds a creamy texture that’s just irresistible.
  • 1/2 cup of shredded lettuce – For that crunch and freshness.
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro – If you’re a cilantro lover like me, feel free to add more.
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheese – I like using a blend of Monterey Jack and cheddar, but you can use whatever you have on hand.
  • 2 tablespoons of sour cream – This will help in blending all the flavors together.
  • 1 lime, juiced – For that zesty flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder – This is for seasoning the chicken, but you can adjust according to your taste.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas – I find that warming them up a bit makes them more pliable and easier to wrap.
